the work I am called to in this lifetime is the work of being a villager. this looks like villaging around the medicine wheel in the: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual .

in the physical, i fix structures, beautifying spaces as a  plasterer, muralist, carpenter and handyperson. starting photography at 16 years old, and later at film school I learnt the art of video editing and media making, now archiving the progression of life, village, and community over many years. i make comics exploring animism, nvc consciousness, and interdependence in relationships.

in the emotional, i work with communities, couples, and individuals to connect with their longings for belonging through practices rooted in slow building and relationship ecology. both are frameworks that recognize the distortions of our oppressive systems, and the longings to return to village by shining a light on inherited beliefs through work in community.

in the mental, i engage with restorying how we conceive of family, partnership, and friendship on relationshipecology.net and teach slow building on land with folks interested in exploring the ways exploitation and the disregard of the dignity of all beings has led to our current building culture. together we can learn how to invest in construction and relationship skills in tandem to one another.

in the spiritual, i see the work of building as the cultivation of temple life, community as an opportunity to deepen with the work of repair from conflict, and divination as a practice to speak with the unknown.

this is my work, what is my calling, and i reckonize that living in capitalism means my work is differen’t than what is considered paid work. so this website is oriented around what i offer to support my livelihood. if you are interested in working with me, please consider reading about the gift economy.
