my name is kylie or kai, i use both. for whatever reason, i haven’t been able to stop making art since 4 years old. i’ve played around with many different mediums over the years, writing, filmmaking, animating, building, movement, illustrating, and music making.
when i started community organizing in 2016, my relationship with art shifted and i began to use my practices to call in a better world for the beings on this planet.
my mission for the past year has been to connect people with their creativity as a means to push back against the systems that try to tell us we don’t have a birthright to create beauty, humor, joy, and connection through art and play.
it is through community and relational organizing that i make art. i see myself more as a conduit for the stories that community wants to be told, documented, or shared.
i am humbled to be able to do this work, and am grateful to all that has led me into this life.
