giving & recieving

Inspired by the work of Canticle Farm, Non-Violent Global Liberation Community, East Bay Meditation Center, and the practitoners, peers, and friends in community, I operate in the spirit of the gift economy.

This looks like, not asking for a price, set rate, or institutionalized salary, but to live in the question of: how can we meet our needs for contribution, by giving to support the care of those who offer medicine to our communities?

When we give, we aren’t coming from a place of exchanging a service or product for a price that has been set (oftentimes this price is subsidizing the cost that our future relatives will shoulder), but of a desire to show our appreciation, honor the value of what we experienced, and to continue to support the sustainability of a person to continue to offer their gifts.

Writing this all, I recognize the big edge that it takes to tune in with oneself to know what amount feels right.

If you are wanting ease and clarity around what amount to give I have here some suggestions.

1:1 coaching ~ $90 - $200 a session
earthen plaster works ~ $350 - $650 a day of labor (this includes unseen prep hours)
photo/film/editing work ~ $300 - $600 a day
